{"id":836,"date":"2009-12-19T10:31:41","date_gmt":"2009-12-19T16:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/famille.org\/?p=836"},"modified":"2009-12-19T10:31:41","modified_gmt":"2009-12-19T16:31:41","slug":"eight-hanukkah-candle-lighting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/famille.org\/?p=836","title":{"rendered":"Eight Hanukkah Candle Lighting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ah, the last candle lighting of Hanukkah.\u00c2\u00a0 Tonight we went out to eat early at Gullivers and had pizza, chicken strips, soups, and appetizers.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we came home and lit candles.\u00c2\u00a0 I always love the eighth night, when all the candles are blazing.\u00c2\u00a0 You can actually feel the heat in the living room.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, a subdued if not enjoyable Hanukkah this year. Quick story &#8211; last week, Justin made a gingerbread house at school.\u00c2\u00a0 He brought it home, and we had to go out for something and left it in the living room.\u00c2\u00a0 When we came back, we found its scraps on the floor, having been eaten by our dog, Eyeeore.\u00c2\u00a0 Justin felt very bad.\u00c2\u00a0 So today, Ethan&#8217;s class made gingerbread houses (I was there to help too) and Ethan gave his gingerbread house to Justin, to make him feel better.\u00c2\u00a0 Somewhere in the pictures (linked below) you&#8217;ll see a picture of Justin opening his new gingerbread house with a big smile on his face.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, the last full day of Hanukkah, we would normally bake cookies, but I think we&#8217;re going to be busy, between haircuts and having to wait for Comcast to come and fix our perpetually broken cable service.\u00c2\u00a0 But now the kids are on winter break, so we might bake cookies later this week.\u00c2\u00a0 If we do, I&#8217;ll blog about it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Pictures of the generally good times being had by all are <a href=\"http:\/\/gallery.famille.org\/main.php?g2_itemId=2764\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ah, the last candle lighting of Hanukkah.\u00c2\u00a0 Tonight we went out to eat early at Gullivers and had pizza, chicken strips, soups, and appetizers.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we came home and lit candles.\u00c2\u00a0 I always love the eighth night, when all the candles are blazing.\u00c2\u00a0 You can actually feel the heat in the living room.
